Do I need to get a local Chinese SIM card?

Additionally, registering as a new patient at a public hospital requires an SMS verification code to create your medical profile, and foreign phone numbers often fail to receive these texts. We suggest testing your current number beforehand, but getting a local Chinese SIM card upon arrival is the safest option.

Yes, the top-tier hospitals mentioned above feature dedicated International Medical Departments (VIP wards). If you have a more flexible budget and prefer an expedited diagnosis and targeted treatment process with English-speaking staff, we can arrange for you to be treated in these international departments.
How do I choose the right hospital?
You don't need to worry about this at all. Based on the brief medical summary you provide, our team will match you with the most suitable hospital, specific department, and top specialist for your condition. All you need to do is send us your passport details at least 5 days before your scheduled arrival in China.
What is the process like for a first-time visit to a Chinese hospital?
Unlike the healthcare systems in the US or Europe, where you often need a referral from a general practitioner to see a specialist, patients in China can usually book directly with a specialist department. To save you time and avoid long queues, we will handle the online booking for you 3 to 7 days in advance.

How do I start the treatment process?

What documents do I need to provide?
Ideally, please provide a brief summary of your symptoms in English, a copy of your passport, a list of any known allergies, and your current medication list. You can bring your original, detailed medical records and imaging reports with you to the hospital so the doctors can thoroughly assess your current condition in person.
Will I have to navigate the hospital by myself?
Not at all. We will assign a dedicated medical concierge to accompany you throughout your entire hospital visit to ensure a smooth experience. They will provide real-time translation, help confirm doctors' instructions, explain post-visit care guidelines, schedule follow-up appointments, assist with pharmacy pickups, and handle ward and surgery bookings.
I am not a native English speaker. Do you provide translators in other languages?
Yes, we do. In addition to English and Chinese, we offer professional translation services in Spanish, French, Arabic, Thai, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Russian.
Can I receive Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) treatments without traveling to China?

How do I pay for the hospital bills?
We highly recommend downloading the Alipay app two weeks before your departure. You can register using your mobile number, verify your identity with your passport, and wait 1-3 days for approval. Once approved, you can link your international debit or credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, JCB, Discover, and Diners Club are all supported) to pay for hospital fees directly.
Alipay safe to use?
Alipay is extremely secure. It employs bank-grade encryption, device fingerprinting, biometric authentication, and real-time risk control systems. As one of the largest digital payment platforms in the world, processing billions of transactions daily in China, its security infrastructure is highly mature. As long as you keep your SMS verification codes and payment passwords private, using Alipay is completely safe.
Are there other payment apps I should know about?
WeChat Pay is the other major payment platform in China, operated by Tencent. Like Alipay, it covers both online and offline payment scenarios and is universally accepted across the country. The setup process is quite similar. In daily life, almost all vendors and hospitals accept both Alipay and WeChat Pay, making them the two most essential mobile payment tools in China.
